Connection 100% – Our second charity collab with PlusPlus NGO
How it started
It all started when the foundation approached me with a request to make a small batch of tags to gift to part of their community. During our first conversation, I realized that we fully aligned in values — and that RBTNK would do more than just a small batch of Tags. We would create a new artifact. And my then-somewhat-bold but confident response was: we won’t just make a tag, we’ll create a project around an important theme — and the tag will be what ties it all together.
That’s how the idea started to crystallize — a project in which soldiers, volunteers, and civilians would share what connection means to them. Because staying connected at the front is a complex system of actions and tasks. It requires knowledge, time, and equipment to maintain — and these things are what make it possible to carry out combat missions and stay in touch with those who are waiting for news from us most.
Some context
This photos was taken in 2022. Back then, only our unit had a Starlink, and other soldiers came to us to talk with their families and loved ones. Yes, it was dangerous — a group of people gathering in one place put us at risk. On top of that, we were medics. But I had no choice — it was important for me to share this opportunity and support the guys and their families.
Today, it’s no longer hard to buy or get communication tools for the military — we’ve made a lot of progress. But now there are new challenges — tools that constantly disrupt connection. And then there are those periodic announcements from Trump or Musk about cutting off our Starlink. Ukraine and Europe have their own developments that won’t leave the battlefield without a basic communication infrastructure, but still, we need those tools — and backups when they’re lost or destroyed (which happens all the time).
How its going
Together with ++, we created a Tag with a new superpower: 100% Connection. We released a series of interviews where people talk about the importance of physical and mental connection in war.
Our shared artifact is an invisible thread between loved ones — another way to be just a little bit closer. And 100% of the money from its sale will go toward purchasing communication equipment — radios, modems, and cellular devices — so that our troops stay connected with each other and their families.
Thank you — and may you always stay connected.
