How RBTNK and Vladyslav Heraskevych preserve the memory of fallen Ukrainian athletes

Memory is part of RBTNK’s DNA. That is why, when we learned about Vladyslav Heraskevych’s act and his “memory helmet” at the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games, which led to his disqualification, we could not help but support him: because we know that memory artifacts are neither propaganda nor a violation, but the physical embodiment of a choice - to remember and continue the struggle.

Do you remember our memorial bracelets for the finalists of the “Honor of the Profession” competition in the “Memorial Material of the Year” special category? Together with the Memorial Memory Platform, we created such artifacts for the first time, covered with the names of those killed as a result of Russian aggression. Seventy-three media professionals who lost their lives while reporting the truth.

We created a special artifact for Vladyslav - a memory bracelet engraved with the names of 22 athletes killed by Russia. All of them were depicted on his “memory helmet”. Their stories, along with those of another 11,000 Ukrainians whose lives were taken by the enemy, are preserved on the Memorial Memory Platform.
